Champions for Kids
Have you heard about Champions for Kids? I am so excited to share this program with you! They makes it simple to give children in local communities the resources they need to thrive.
Helping others does not have to come in large doses. Champions for Kids seeks to ignite generational change by fostering a ‘habit of giving’ among youth and parents in America.Did you know every year students in the United States miss more than 51 million hours of school due to dental-related illness? In fact, tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood disease, and if left untreated, it can affect children’s ability to eat, speak, learn, and play.

SIMPLE Giving is a for Kids program that makes it simple for you to help kids in your community. To help children stay healthy and avoid missed school days, Champions for Kids teamed up with Colgate for a SIMPLE Giving program to spread the importance of healthy oral care habits. Colgate donated $100,000 of oral care products to help children in need.

This SIMPLE Giving program collected donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste and hand soap at our local Walmart, and this week, school district representatives are picking up the donations to benefit the local community

All of the donations go to children of the school district where the participating Walmart store is located.

The year my husband and I were both laid off, we struggled to by necessities. I will never forget the angels that helped us through that time. Some will forever be a mystery to me.

How can you give when funds are low? We can always give! Here are some ideas to help you give on a budget.

  • Coupons! Toothpaste is one of the easiest products to get for free with coupons. Always save toothpaste coupons. When they go on sale grab a few. You can easily get packs for free or for very cheap.

  • Have your gets do a drive or take a collection. It is a great way to get the excited about giving. Whether you do it with family, church or the neighborhood, you can raise enough money or products to make a large donation. Let the kids go with you to purchase and donate the items.
  • Give your time. Do a google search for volunteer opportunities in your area. Find something that the kids can participate in as well. image
  • Clean out and donate. This one is easy. Clean out the closets. Anything you or your child has not worn in a year or does not fit anymore, pack up. Take it to someone in need or deliver it to a charity.

There are so many ways to give on a budget. I am proud of campaigns like champions for kids and simple giving that help us give to others no matter what your income.

How can you help this year? Share other ways we can give on budget.
