I want to share with you my honest Shakeology review and results along with my 21 day fix review and results. As I mentioned in my post about food addiction, I discovered it when I was searching for weight loss tools that work for people with hormonal and thyroid issues.
What is Shakeology?
- Proteins, Vitamins, and Minerals – to help reduce hunger and food cravings.
- Antioxidants and Phytonutrients – to help detoxify and protect the body against free radical damage.
- Adaptogen Herbs – to help increase energy and combat stress.
- Prebiotics, Probiotics, Fiber, and Digestive Enzymes – to aid digestion and promote regularity.
So how did it taste? It was ok. The shake alone is not great, in my opinion, but it comes with recipes to inspire. When you add fruit, almond milk, or peanut butter (YUM), you can create lots of yummy treats. I made mine in the Ninja every time. Just shaking it didn’t do it for me. There are lots of good recipes for Shakeology on Pinterest.
What is the 21 day fix?
Read my 21 day fix review first. I love the system. It promotes portion control. That is something I really need! If it fits, you can eat it.
So the first 2 weeks were ok. I did not stick to the plan completely. I mean, I ate the right food, just not enough. I did not eat all my containers every day. The shakes definitely made me feel fuller and curbed cravings. So I went with it. I ate when I was hungry.
About half way through I hit a milestone! I reached my 30 pound mark! WOOHOO! I shared it with everyone! YAY!
Then I decided to really focus on my eating. Get over the fact that food was the enemy. I met with my coach and we created a meal plan. I planned out exactly what I would eat each day so that I would eat all of my containers.
I found this awesome journal at Target to help me stay on track.
I stayed on track all week. I ate all my containers and not a bite more! WOOT! I recorded everything I ate, my goals, gratitude and workouts each day.
I am here to report my 21 day fix results. Today marks 21 days. Please know, that I have issues. Real issues, like hormones, and hypo-thyroid that all contributed to these results. It is not normal to gain weight and not lose inches.
I am very discouraged. But I will keep on. I have another order of Shakeology on the way, so I need to keep going.
I’ll report back later. Stay tuned.
