Allergies can change the way you think about food. My daughter was born allergic to everything. Milk, Soy, Preservatives, Nuts, Grass, Ants, you name it! We spent the first 2 years of her life buying special formula and cereal and making her baby food! We literally would boil chicken and veggies and puree them! It was crazy! Thankfully, she outgrew most of her allergies. All but one. She still has the nut allergy. The doctor confirmed last year that this would probably be a lifelong allergy. We have an epi pen on hand at all times.
It has completely changed the way we eat and eat out. One of my favorite fast food chains cooks using peanut oil. For that reason we are very careful if we go there, generally we avoid it at all costs.
I am thankful for companies that are allergy aware and make life easier on parents like me! Red Robin is one of those restaurants.
May is National Allergy Awareness Month and to celebrate and continue to raise awareness, I paired with Red Robin to tell you about their efforts to make life easier for those with allergies.
