100 pound journeyThis year I am getting serious. If you read my Well Hello There 36! post then you know I am putting my health on the front burner! That means telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth even if it is ugly! So here it is. I am overweight. Like seriously overweight. It is crazy because I have shared so many weight loss tools and journeys with you and yet here I am. I am heavier than I was when I was pregnant either time! So it is time to get serious! Time to get healthy! And I want to share the experience with you.

I  feel like if I am going through something, then surely someone else is too. And if I can help even one person while going on a journey then I want to! So that means being completely open and honest. And this blog allows me to do just that.

Why a 100 pound journey? Well, I a considered morbidly obese right now with a BMI of 43.9. And according to the “charts” I need to be 105 pounds lighter in order to be considered “NORMAL”. That would put me at 120. So that is why I am doing a 100 pound journey. I don’t necessarily feel that I must lose 105 pounds to be happy… but normal and healthy should be my goal. I would actually be thrilled to be in the 140s again! But that would still be considered overweight. But I want to lay that out there to let you know when I reach the 140s I will be celebrating!

This week’s diet included low carb foods like chicken, veggies, sausage, cheese, and eggs. I am stopping soda and started drinking tea sweetened with artificial sweeteners, water, Spark, and coffee. Thanks to the plan I am NOT counting calories or counting carbs. But I am only eating good carbs, like carbs from veggies.

This week’s fitness included working out! Y’ALL I got a gym membership! Joel and I got a membership at SNAP Fitness. It is about 3 mins from our house so that it is easy to get in a workout before work. I hate to work out so this is a HUGE change for me. But I know I must get fit along with having a healthy diet. And it needs to be a lifestyle change. Not just a diet or one week fad workout. weekly weight loss week 1

I think having him going on this journey with me will help so much! 100 pound journey

Then the kids and I are doing daily walks in the neighborhood and on trails. It is so much fun and they love it!weight loss journey

So week 1 was a success. I am excited to see where there rest of the weeks lead. It will be small steps toward a HUGE goal! Stay tuned as I work on changing my health and my life!

  1. You are beautiful My Love. I’m proud of you for taking a serious position with your health. You’re young enough to make changes before you suffer consequences to your body. You can start fresh so that you’ll be around to see your babies grow up and give you grand babies. I’m routing for you.

    1. Thank you Mama! I appreciate your support so much! Thank you for always encouraging me to be and do my very best! I know I can do this with your support. I love you! I am so excited to see what is ahead in this year and all the years to come! It is going to be awesome! 🙂

  2. Wishing you all the best 🙂 When it gets tough, (’cause it will at times) try writing down a list of what you are looking forward to be able of doing with your kids, your husband or merely for your self 🙂
And : You should not be using artificial sweeteners, they are a scam, and doing more damage to your body than natural sweeteners. Use honey or good sirops, your body can deal with that.
Sending lots of supporting and good thoughts to you 🙂 (Y)

    1. Thank you SO MUCH Birthe!! You have no idea how much that means! That is great advice! I should make a list. There is so much I am looking forward to doing with my kids, family, and just for me once I am healthier. And that is a great tip about artificial sweeteners and you are not the first to tell me that in the last couple days. I like the tip about honey. I need to look into this more and see how I can make this change to my diet as well. Thanks again for your support. I REALLY appreciate it!!!

  3. I’m on a similar journey as you. Trying get the 24 Day Challenge (again) next week. Keep up the great posts – you are an inspiration to me!
