Dark Mode Off / On

Disclosure: We saw a press screening of this movie free of charge. No monetary compensation was received. This is my honest opinion.

My kids love the DIARY OF A WIMPY KID Series of books! My daughter has read them since 2nd grade and now my son has started reading them. I love that this is an engaging series that both kids love.  So when they saw that there was a movie about Greg and his family they were both so excited! We could hardly wait to see it!

In DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: THE LONG HAUL, based on the record-breaking book series, a family road trip to attend Meemaw’s 90th birthday party goes hilariously off course–thanks to Greg’s newest scheme to (finally!) become famous.

So what did I think?

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: THE LONG HAUL is full of laughs for the whole family! We were all laughing out loud throughout this movie. From farts, to parents singing, to the attack of the birds, there was never a dull moment. I liked that this was a really family friendly movie. It was so relate able. If you have ever been on a family road trip then you can relate with some of these moments on the road. I felt for the mom. As a mom we spend all our time wanting to bond with our  kids and create wonderful family memories. That is what she was trying to do and everything just kept going wrong. But in the end family wins!

What did the kids think?

My son said his favorite part was : “EVERYTHING”

My daughter said it was just like the characters in the books. She loved how they stayed true to the book personalities. She also loved the pig scene. (I won’t tell you what happened, but there is a pig scene.)

They both agreed it was even better than the last Diary of a Wimpy kid movie.
