Dark Mode Off / On

In the early days of university, it is perfectly acceptable to improvise. When an active social calendar means a large group of friends arrive to your apartment and seating is limited, there are no qualms with turning a laundry basket upside down, pulling a bedside table out, and dusting off a plastic storage box to create new seating arrangements.

However, it isn’t the early days of university anymore. As a host, you are now expected to find seating arrangements that are more comfortable than your upturned laundry basket. But with limited time before guests arrive, what options are available?

Rent Furniture

Modern technology has developed an innovative and novel way to solve your seating problem. More and more Indians are turning to furniture rentals to meet all their furnishing needs. Beds for rent, a sofa on rent, even laptops and motorcycles are becoming commonplace among the Indian real estate scene.

Rental additional seating before your guests arrive is the most convenient solution. Most rental companies will drop the furniture off and pick it up free of charge with tracked delivery. So you don’t even have to leave your property and you can solve your seating crisis without logistical hassle, or transportation headaches. Because you aren’t buying, it doesn’t break the bank either.

Ottoman Coffee Tables

Renting or purchasing an Ottoman coffee table is always a good idea for someone with an active social life. These upholstered coffee tables are functional as tables, complete with trays to place drinks, books, and snacks, but once the tray is removed, you can use the table as a comfortable and elegant seat.

Failing that, some single seat Ottomans also make excellent side tables and also double as a single-person seat when you have a large family or social gathering.

Embrace Stools

Renting stools that can slot under a table are ideal. This method of storage means you can stack a lot of potential seating options, then store them out of sight under a coffee table.

Stacking a lot of stools means that even if your friends unexpectedly invite friends of their own and the guestlist suddenly expands, you still have seating options available for the sudden arrival of a couple of new faces.

Use Wall Storage

If space in your property is at a premium and this is putting you off renting or buying some extra chairs or a sofa, use the wall space as storage. Get some fold-up chairs (preferably in a colour that matches the wall), and install small, discrete hooks in the wall to hang them from. This way, you can have a couple of extra seats available without having to compromise on any floor or storage space.

However large or small your property is, there are rental options that will allow you additional seating for larger gatherings. Being savvy and effectively utilising the space on offer will mean that you can continue to host as many friends as you want, as often as you want.
