This week I saw a doctor about trying to get my thyroid and hormones under control. Because I am in menopause everything is all out of wack. So, I saw a new specialist. One thing that surprised me was her mention of my diet. Because of my autoimmune disease, she said I need to eat an anti-inflammatory diet. She specifically suggested the Paleo diet. Interesting right?
Have you heard of Advocare? A friend of a friend was talking about how she went from a size 18-12 and I was curious. HOW? It turns out she is an Advocare Distributor. After seeing all the excitement across the web about the Advocare 24 Day Challenge and researching the products myself, I was in!
So, the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. Does it work? That is what I am going to find out. I will do my best to keep my journal here each day. You can also follow me on Instagram for updates each day.
The first park is the Advocare Herbal Cleanse. It includes these products in the box:
I went through and divided up each day into ziploc baggies to make it easier and more convienent. Marked each one with the day number and filled them with the items for that day. You can use the book that comes with your challenge to know what to take each day. You’ll notice there are different phases with different cleanse product combinations throughout.
Day 1:
It went well. I was surprised how much energy I had. Today was day 1 of no coffee or Diet Dr. Pepper. I made it! The Spark drinks kept me going. So far, I do not have a headache, I did not have the mid day slump. So YAY! My day went like this:
- Early AM: Spark
- Breakfast: Fiber drink, Oatmeal, 1/2 Banana, OmegaPlex
- Snack: Apple
- Lunch: Chicken breast over a bed of spinach, tomatoes, and 1/2 avocado.
- Spark, Almonds
- Dinner: Chicken thigh baked over a bed of spinach, tomatoes, and a serving of Whole Grain Wild Rice. OmegaPlex
- Snack: Orange
- Cleanse Pack
Day 2:
I am emotional today. My friend passed away last night. I am heart broken. I am telling you this because I am an emotional eater. I am so thankful that the Advocare plan and supplements are keeping me full. Otherwise I would be eating gallons of ice cream, bags of chips, and french fries. Instead I packed some nuts and spark in my bag along with a water bottle. That kept me going! I just wanted to share that.
- Early AM: Fiber drink (Today I mixed a little spark in with it)
- Breakfast:2 OmagaPlex Spark, Oatmeal, Apple, tablespoon Peanut Butter
- Snack: Peanuts
- Lunch: Baked Chicken Breast on a bed on Spinach, Tomatoes, Onions and a side of Whole Grain Rice (left over from last night)
- Snack: Almonds
- Dinner: Spinach, Grilled Chicken (I had a very late dinner)
- Cleanse Pack
Day 3:
Today was great! I have energy but not too much. I am not jittery like I expected to be. I’ll be honest— I have gone to the bathroom 3 x a day. I have NEVER been regular. That is because of my thyroid. But this has helped move things along! And I know what you are thinking. No I did not have to run to the bathroom! There was NO pain, cramping, or anything runny. This is completely different than laxatives. Completely!
- Early AM: Pink Lemonade Spark
- Breakfast:2 OmagaPlex, Fiber drink, Oatmeal, Apple, Boiled eggs
- Snack: Apple
- Lunch: Chicken from a can, asparagus spears, Quinoa
- Snack: Almonds
- Dinner: Same as lunch… I just wasn’t very hungry but I made myself eat.
- Cleanse Pack
