Meet Mighty Man.
I got him from a lady who could not take care of him. She named him Mighty Man and it is funny because he is so tiny but thinks he is very mighty. My husband hates the name because is so NOT mighty. Like most tiny dogs, he thinks he is big and bad, but really he is scared of everything. But we love it!
He is just like one of my kiddos. It took us a while to train him on the leash, but we did it. He goes to the bus stop with us and we have him trained to go on walks with us now! YAY!
He came home with fleas. He was an outdoor pet prior to joining our family. Every dog that spends a fair amount of time outdoors interacting with other pets is at risk of catching a bad case of fleas, especially when exposed to potential non-sanitary conditions. The quickest way to get rid of these small yet annoying insects is by applying flea killing shampoo for dogs while bathing your dog. Usually, these shampoos need to be applied in at least three different occasions to fully get rid of fleas that may be nesting within the fur of your pet.
Now that he is indoors, we needed to take care of this immediately! I tried a flea collar, but he needed more. I was worried about using the standard over the counter flea treatments so I made a homemade dog shampoo. We love this!

DIY Dog Shampoo For Fleas and Soft Hair
- Mix equal parts of the apple cider vinegar and dish soap.
- Shake well.
- Pour along the back of your dog.
- Then massage the mixture on your dog.
- Massage well.
- Do this for about 10-15 minutes.
- You want the mixture to sit long enough to drown the fleas.
- Rinse well. You will notice fleas in the water as you rinse him.
- Follow up with a short was in plain dish soap if the smell is bothersome. It was not bad for me.
- Dry off well.
He will be so soft and fluffy! And the fleas will be much better. Do this once a week to keep them away!
