As a work at home mom, I have to be creative in figuring out how to exercise with the kids. On day 4 of the 24 Day Advocare Challenge I started walking! This is HUGE! I am not a physically active person. Suddenly I had the energy and desire to get off the couch and step away from the desk, and go walking.
I am NOT running. I tried. It was horrible. My knees and ankles felt like they were going to break off. I am still too over weight to do that. So for now we walk.
Make walking FUN! Take time to explore. Look what we found on one of our walks!
This is the perfect way to get in exercise with kids in tow. Every day after school and the homework is done, we walk. I use the fee app Runtastic to keep track of how long and how far I have walked. I have made it up to 1-2 miles a day! It all started with the decision to get healthy!
So if your kids hate walking or walk way too slow for you, head to the park. Let the kids play and get your walk on! I watch the kids and walk around the playground over and over. It is a great way to entertain the kids and get in your physical activity! They will LOVE it!
