Dark Mode Off / On

Simply put, fat loss refers to a drop in body fat levels. The term is often used reciprocally with weight loss, but fat loss is more specific and healthier. Even though you can do cardio exercises and weight training to lose fat, medical procedures can help you easily lose extra fat.

Liposuction

It is a surgical procedure that involves getting rid of excess fat from certain body areas such as calves, abdomen, ankles, upper arm, thighs, and chest. The procedure involves the doctor administering anesthesia and then making small incisions, through which he inserts tubes. The tubes are attached to a syringe/suction pump that helps to suction out fat deposits.

Liposuction is a serious elective cosmetic procedure, and you have to be sure that it is safe for you. The fat cells are permanently removed, so gaining weight means the body will store the fat elsewhere. It is dangerous when the new fat grows around organs such as the heart and liver.

The recovery time differs for different patients depending on the location and size of the area. Complete recovery normally takes about six months. The risks of liposuction include nerve damage, infections, damage to internal organs, cardiac complications, embolism, and burns. It is not recommended to undergo liposuction if you have life-threatening illnesses.

Ultrasound

The procedure involves using low-frequency sound waves to destroy fat cells. It does not damage tissues and muscles and is efficient for getting rid of fat deposits on the buttocks, abdomen, face, and back.

After the procedure, there is no downtime. Side effects are mild and include decreased appetite, nausea, headache, and skin reddening. However, you can go back to your normal routine immediately after the procedure. Ultrasound is ideal for you if you want to get rid of fat from specific body areas.

You get permanent results for treated areas with ultrasound. However, failure to maintain weight may accumulate fat in other areas. Therefore, you need to exercise and maintain a good diet. Ensure that your health and wellness come first to maintain your newfound body effectively.

Abdominoplasty

The procedure involves getting rid of excess fat or skin from your abdomen. Then, you can go for a full or mini-abdominoplasty. During the procedure, the doctor administers general anesthesia, after which he makes incisions from hip bone to hip bone. From there, he removes the excess skin or fat.

The downtime varies but is 6-8 weeks for most patients. Risk factors include asymmetry, excessive swelling, and blood clots. The procedure is ideal if a woman has a protruding belly long after delivery or has loose skin but is discouraged on nursing mothers. Ensure you learn about some important factors before undertaking abdominoplasty.

Cryolipolysis

Also known as CoolSculpting, the procedure freezes obstinate body fat using cooling technology. The procedure is simple and effective for upper arms, tires, inner thighs, and love handles. The first treatment will see you lose about 20% of the fat in the targeted area.

It takes a few months for the cooled cells to shrink and be disposed of through the liver.

Extreme dangers of CoolSculpting include disfiguration and paradoxical adipose hyperplasia. Temporary effects include intense cold, bruising, cramping, and stinging sensation. If you have circulatory problems or tend to bleed severely, avoid cryolipolysis.

Radiofrequency

Radiofrequency is ideal for you if you have general excess body fat. The doctor applies controlled heat on your fat cells to kill them without affecting the surrounding skin and muscles. The procedure also stimulates collagen production, hence tightening loose skin

There is no recovery time after the procedure, and you can go back to your normal routine immediately. You can note visible changes after the first 2-6 sessions. Temporary effects include tissue tenderness and tingling. The procedure is not recommended if you are pregnant, nursing, obese, or have metallic implants.

Mesotherapy

It involves injecting various vitamins, plant extracts, pharmaceutical agents, and homeopathic agents into the mesoderm. However, you can opt for a needleless procedure that utilizes ultrasound instead of injection. The medicine breaks down fatty cells in the legs, arms, chin, neck and flushes them out as waste.

There is no recovery time required. You can go back to your everyday routine immediately after the procedure. Side effects include redness, soreness, swelling, and bruising. It takes a few days for the effects to subside. Mesotherapy is not recommended for you if you are obese, diabetic, or have active implants.

Conclusion

Many medical fat loss procedures tend to be successful. However, things can go south at times, and it is vital that before undergoing any procedure, you talk to your doctor about the probable side effects. In addition, you need to take good care of yourself after the procedure to maintain your new body.
