I teach the preschool class at church and we made this adorable little baby Jesus in a Manger craft for kids. It is an easy Christmas craft for young kids.
The first thing you want to do is go ahead and get all the supplies cut and ready.
Baby Jesus in a Manger Christmas Craft for Kids
Supplies
- construction paper
- popsicle sticks
- raffia ribbon
- scissors
- hot glue gun and glue (for you)
- school glue (for them)
This easy Jesus in a manger Christmas Craft for Kids is so cute and so easy! Perfect for preschool or even elementary school ages. Here are the steps:
Take your popsicle sticks and make and X and use hot glue to attach.
Cut your shapes. I don’t have a template. I just cut the following:
- Round circle for the head
- Oblong and with one flat end for the body
- Triangle for the manger (I did brown.
Cut out strips of the raffia or any ribbon and hot glue the ends to the top of the sticks. This will be used the hang on the tree.
Do this to all your sticks. This is making the base of the manger and then the kids can decorate.
Now it is time for the kids to have fun. Let them use school glue to glue on the triangle to make a manger.
Then they can glue the baby Jesus body and head. The manger will be laying face down and they can glue however they want to the back of the manger so it looks like he is laying in it.
Cut lots of strips of raffia to make hay. I found it easiest to tape the hay on so it would stay in an y way they wanted. Again, this is on the back.
Let it dry for a few minutes and then turn it over and enjoy!
It is so cute and so easy! Perfect for preschool or even elementary school ages. You could add hair, glitter, or anything else. We drew a little face on ours and left him without hair.
