Field of Vision premieres Saturday, June 11th at 8/7c on NBC. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to get a sneak peek! I was glad for my sake and yours. So many movies that have come on prime time basic tv recently are NOT what I consider family friendly. I have had to change the channel more times than I can count when inappropriate subjects or language comes on. So I wanted to see if this would really be good for a Family Movie Night.
I can safely say now that it IS FAMILY FRIENDLY! Let me give you a short summary of the movie. NOTE: I will not give away the ending. I hate when people do that. 🙂
There are many issues that are addresed in this film. Bullying, family, friendship, imagination and parenting are just a few. At the start of the movie you watch a somewhat “normal” family getting ready for a busy morning of work and school. It is a great way to see each persons role and personality. You can see that the parents care about and are trying to raise their children ,son Tyler( the high school star quarterback) and daughter Lucy to be good honest people.
The story unfolds as Cory joins the picture. He is a teenager who has had a hard life and is currently in a foster home. When he joins the school he is faced with hard situations from the boys at school and bulling begins. We see Tyler being faced with the real decision of whether to do the right thing or what is easiest and join the crowd. We watch as the characters all grow and learn how to handle life’s toughest situations.
I LOVE that this movie focuses on several tough topics and opens the door for discussion with our own kids.
I also noticed that when Cory and Tyler were riding in the truck together one of my favorite christian songs was playing on the radio! I love that was included in this film!
So make a plan to bring the family together June 11, 2011 at 8/7c. You will find it on NBC. I am thankful to Walmart and P&G for joining forces to bring America a family focused movie.
