Dark Mode Off / On

A few weeks ago I shared with you my mission to share with others. This mission was inspired by Champion For Kids July Simple Service Project Spin Into Action. I hope it inspired you to do your part to help others as well!

As I mentioned I went shopping at Walmart and purchased  many oral care items. You can see my full shopping trip here. I knew from the start which organization I was going to donate too. There is a great organization “Churches United in Caring” in our area that is the o to place for people in need.  They help people who have immediate needs. I like that they verify the need immediately. They ask families to be specific in what they need and they help with that need. They do not hand out money they provide the need. So if a family can not pay a water bill they will call and verify and then pay that bill directly. If they family needs food they will give them the essential food items for the week. I really like that it is not money being handed out but rather the NEED! That is why this organization is perfect. I want these oral care items on hand for someone that comes in with this need! It will not go to waste but it will go to someone who needs it.

This was a wonderful opportunity to teach my kids about needs, those in need and how to help.  It was important to me that I show that something that they do daily is a luxury to some right now. At any moment it could be for us too. It is out duty to help others when we can.

We visited the local organization. They asked that I not share images of the workers or recipients. They did share that this type of donation is one of the most forgotten and yet needed kinds.

It is important that we all remember this. Just grabbing on or two extra items each week can bless so many! Will you be one of millions? You CAN make a difference! No gift is too small!
