There are tons of family friendly things to do in New Orleans with kids. Here are some of my favorites. These are my kids enjoying the attractions.
New Orleans City Park
This is a MUST do if you are looking for things to do in New Orleans with kids and stay on a tight budget! We had a blast! All of these fun things are in the city park. Enter the park and spend hours enjoying the fun! There are cooling fans throughout the park to help cool down. There are concessions and a cafe. Make sure you bring cash for snacks and drinks. You are not allowed to bring food or drinks in to the park.
Botanical Garden
Enjoy seeing fossils, orchids, and a vegetable garden. This is a very educational experience.
Carousel Gardens Amusement Park
City Park’s amusement park has more than 15 fun rides for kids of all ages. My husband even joined in the fun!
Discover Storyland
Your kids’ favorite fairytale characters are all here! More than 25 large, whimsical sculptures are in this storybook-themed playground. Explore the Dragon Slide, climb aboard Captain Hook’s pirate ship, and into the mouth of a whale with Pinocchio, and more!
This is a very cheap way to have hours of fun! For these three attractions the admission was $4 for person (Kids 36” & under get admission free) $17 unlimited rides or $3 per ride. Paid admission includes entry into the Amusement Park, Botanical Gardens, and Storyland. Buy at the ticket booth or online.
