Dark Mode Off / On

Vacations can be a fun time for everyone in the family, but it’s easy to run out of ideas quickly. The kids complaining “I’m bored!” or “there’s nothing to do!” may sound familiar. Well, have no fear – here are 4 fun days out that are bound to keep you and the family happy.

Theme Park

Kick off your holiday with a bang by taking your family to a theme park – kids of all ages (and that includes Grandma) will find something to enjoy, whether that’s the teacups or the big dipper. Universal Studios in Orlando is one of the best places for this – not only are there great rides but interactive experiences such as a reconstruction of Diagon Alley from Harry Potter. There are plenty of different Universal tickets available, so you can find one that’s right for your family as well as your price range.

Safari Park

Safari parks are a great taste of adventure for everyone – whether in the car or on foot, seeing exotic animals and wildlife is always a treat. It’s great for keeping the kids on their toes as they look for the next animal, and it’s educational, too, as they can learn about the different animals and their habitats. Some safaris, like Bearizona, are acres upon acres large (Bearizona is approximately 160 acres) and allow you to view animals like bears (and bear cubs) in their natural habitat, giving you an authentic and special experience.

Into Nature

Getting out and into nature is one of the best ways to spend time with the family – kids might groan at the idea of a walk (particularly the older ones), but once out amongst the greenery and fresh air, it’s a lot of fun. Visiting a botanical garden is a great idea – the Atlanta Botanical Gardens are very colourful and full of fun figures, including an Alice in Wonderland world, which are bound to pique your kids’ attention. And, the peace, quiet and beauty of the gardens are enough to give the adults a bit of serenity. Besides, if you’re short on things to keep the kids occupied, there are bound to be some Venus flytraps around, which will blow their minds.

Museum

You might hear “museum” and think, “boring!” Well, think again! Nowadays, there’s a museum dedicated to anything you can imagine, from chocolate to Dr Seuss! Whatever you’re interested in, or if your kids have something they’re mad about (sweets will always pull them in), look around for museums to fit your interests. Don’t be so quick to dismiss science museums, either – with so much new technology, there are tons of interactive exhibits and experiments which you and the kids can take part in. Not only are museums educational for everyone, but they’re also a lot of fun and can really keep the smiles coming!

These are just a few ideas of things you can get up to during your vacation – there are many more out there, so get out and get busy!
