Today has been emotional for me. I saw our new President take office. I saw the transfer of power between two men, two parties. I saw how different political parties and people that dislike one another put aside their feelings for the sake of our country and to show unity. Then I saw the hate and violence that followed that. I was so filled with sadness!
Then I saw my 2 precious babies both receive an honor called the Pride Award at school. It is a sign of kindness, respect for others, and everything that the school stands for. I was SO EXCITED AND PROUD!
I am sad that my kids have to see so much hate in this world. We try so hard to teach them love and kindness and I am SO thankful that they live that in their lives even when we are not around. I pray that they will continue to be good, kind, and loving to all that they meet and that others can follow that example. I pray that they will accept and love all people no matter what!
Think about how children are! They simply love. They see no color, size, gender, religion, or political affiliations. They see people. They see FRIENDS! Everyone is a friend. Why does that have to stop? Why do we have to have so much hate and division? Why?
Please be kind. Please love one another.
I know people are sad and hurting, but violence and pure meanness are never the answer! We need to find a way to come together! To support our new President. To love and encourage each other.
I am so proud of the people that my children are becoming. I pray for all of our children! May God protect them and keep them pure and good!
