You Don’t Preheat

When you are hungry, you may think that preheating your oven or even your grill is a step that you don’t need to concern yourself with. That being said, if you don’t preheat your oven properly then you may find that you end up throwing your cooking times and this is the last thing that you want. If you want to do something about this then make sure that the pan you are using is nice and hot, and also make sure that you take the time to really make sure that your oil is smoking before you put your ingredients in. If you can do this, then you will ensure that you get the best result out of your cooking experience.

You Dip Your Measuring Cups

When you measure flour, you may find that you dip the measuring cup into the bag, before levelling it off. When you have done this, you may then dump it into the bowl. The issue with this is that the dipping motion will then pack the flour right into the cup. This gives you far more flour than you actually need. The result will be dense baked goods, every time. The right way for you to measure flour would be for you to use a spoon to place it into the cup, and then level it off at the top. If you want to stop yourself from making this mistake the next time you bake, then why not try this recipe for carrot cake from Sugar Geek Show so you can see what a difference it makes?

Crowding the Pan

Sometimes cooking requires a great deal of patience. You may be tempted to fill your pan up to the top with ingredients but if you do this, then you will actually slow down the cooking process. You may find that this gives you a big pile of mush at the end and that this is something you don’t need. Shoving too much meat in the pan will also make it stew. You may find that you lower the temperature of the pan too much and that this leads to sticking too. If you want to avoid this then make sure that you do not overcrowd the pan and that you also make sure that you do not rush the cooking process. Another mistake that people make is over stirring the pan. If you do this, then you may find that you end up with the same issue. Believe it or not, leaving food alone is the best way for you to make sure it doesn’t stick, as this will start the caramelization process, making it unstick naturally.
