Just a short drive from Orlando Florida you can take the ride of a lifetime on an airboat! This visit into the Florida Everglades will be the most wild adventure you experience in Central Florida. Wild Florida was one stop we had to make on our trip to Florida. We have never been on an airboat and that was on our bucket list! After doing some research it was clear Wild Florida was the place to take our first ride!
During Everglades airboat rides, you’re able to see what natural Florida looks like, seeing untouched foliage and giant cypress trees. You climb aboard a U.S. Coast Guard certified airboat and catch a glimpse of alligators, eagles, turkeys, wild boars, roseate spoonbills, and other native creatures. The U.S. Coast Guard approved airboats can skim across the shoreline while you look for wildlife, or disappear into endless beautiful swamps, marshes and rivers. The creatures that we saw along the ride were simply amazing!
We even saw a mama alligator protecting her self made egg shelter. Wow! That was incredible. Can you spot the mama?
The captains have a knack for being able to pick out wildlife hidden among the trees and waters. Our captain would stop and help us find things. We had to really look, so I was amazed at his ability to clearly and quickly spot them. One thing we stopped and saw was a bald eagle high in the trees. We also so this beautiful bird!
You could feel their passion for educating locals and tourists alike about native and exotic wildlife. Their knowledge was amazing. I could tell they love what they do!
Safety is important so they provide life jackets and ear protection for each guest. The captain also starts the tour with rules and safety guidelines.
You can also stroll through the Gator and Wildlife Park. At Gator and Wildlife Park, there are a ton of interactive animal activities and stations that your kids will love. You can see lemurs, sloths, zebras, and other animals native to South America, Africa, and Australia.
