Fun and Frugal For Kids

Painting Cookies!

Hi, I’m Molly from Just a Little Creativity, and I’m so happy to be a new contributor here at Living on Love and Cents! I have lots of frugal and fun kids ideas I’ll be sharing here twice a month (and stay tuned, I might even sneak in a unique DIY project every now and then).

For today, I’m sharing a family favorite, painted cookies using egg paint.

These bright and colorful painted cookies are a sure hit with your little ones! My kids had a blast, and it occupied them for a good part of the afternoon, which is always a plus. The best part, these painted cookies are made with items you probably already have in your pantry and fridge.

  1. I can imagine how much fun it is for my kids to decorate cookies that way (they are 8 and almost 4) I am just a little hesitant with food color, just because I am not a huge fan of artificial stuff

  2. Brilliant, my kids like to decorate cookies but the frosting is so messy I think this would satisfy that need

  3. Totally stealing this idea for a party we are having Saturday! I always like to have a “craft” for the kids to do while the grown ups are socializing. The problem is the kids attending range from 10 years down to 2 years so it is hard to find something for everyone. This would be perfect and they eat the clean up!

  4. My children look making cookies and painting so they would really enjoy this! Thank you!
