Summertime usually means FUN & SUN! However this summer there has not been much fun in the sun. We have moved TWICE in one month! June has been BUSY! I decided that finally being settled into our house deserved a celebration! My kids deserved a party! So I deciced to throw a tropical splash party with just me and the kids.
Our summertime treats usually include popsicles and ice cream. I like to find treats that offer some nutritional value as well as being a cool treat. We like the all fruit choices but I decided to try something new for this summer celebration. I told the kids I had a surprise and we took off to Walmart. I decided to make this Tropical Splash Summer Celebration a fabulous party. It is possible to do on a budget! I gathered several selections of TCBY including Tropical Peach Mango and Strawberry Swirl Frozen Yogurt. Tropical Peach Mango Frozen Yogurt was screaming tropical celebration! I got items to make a tropical fruit salad, colored glasses, bowls and Tropical Smarties! I was able to get everything for under $20! Oh and I bought a cheap swimming pool (it was on clearance because it was open! SCORE! )
When we got home it was time to party! I blew up balloons, we filled up our little pool, I made a fruit salad and fabulous frozen yogurt treats.. We set up the pool and splashed in the COLD water. AHHH it was wonderful. I set out some towels for a tropical treat picnic. To add a little more fun to the mix we blew up yellow balloons and tossed them around. The laughs and smiles were priceless!
This was too good not to share! So here is how you make a child friendly fruit treat.
Ingredients:
- Canned pineapple chunks or fresh pineapple cut up
- Kiwi
- Strawberries
- Grapes
- TCBY Frozen Yogurt
This is the PERFECT hot summer treat! You should try this with your kids. It’s good for your body and your spirit! Make a day this week to throw a tropical summer splash celebration. There is always something to celebrate! This is an affordable and healthy way to bring smiles and laughter to your backyard! CHEERS!
