This past weekend we made a quick trip up the coast to Gulfport, MS. If you are looking for a perfect beach getaway, this is it. If you are thinking of visiting Gulfport Mississippi, you will not be disappointed. Here are a few highlights from our trip.
The drive was about 3.5 hours from our town outside of Lafayette. It was a nice, scenic drive and we were able to enjoy the bayous and lakes along the way. If you hate bridges, like me, you will want someone else to drive. Thankfully, my irrational fear of bridges has no effect on my husband. He was a pro. More on the bridges later.
The water is crystal clear and the sand is white.
Coming from Houston, where Galveston, TX is our beach, this was a whole new world.
We even saw dolphins in Gulfport MS. Check out the video.
Sunday morning we were delighted to find a group of Christians worshiping on the beach and were able to sing along. That is something you do not experience everyday.
We collected seashells.
We built sand castles.
I got a coffee at Krispy Kreme. I have never been to a Krispy Kreme before, so that was very exciting!
We discovered great restaurants in the Long Beach area.
It was the perfect getaway and weekend road trip for us. I can not wait to go back!
