Dark Mode Off / On

We decided to travel to the Texas hill country on a whim. I am a traveler but ALWAYS research like crazy to find the perfect place to stay and things to do. I love small towns in Texas and there are so many that we always have new Texas Travel options. I decided for us to head to Boerne Texas (pronounced Berr Nee) after reading about the #hillcountrymile that was named one of the top 25 main streets in America. How could I pass that up? Sounded like a place we needed to visit. So I started my search of Family-Friendly Things To Do In Boerne Texas and discovered there were so many hidden and not so hidden jewels.

Search For Artwork

My son loves art so this is something I wanted to do for him.  We discovered Art al Fresco which is basically an art adventure in Bourne. There are unique sculptures placed throughout the historic Hill Country Mile, Boerne’s trail systems, library, and more. You can find a current map found here and be sure to save the map to your phone. Then you plan out your art adventure. They are really spread out but within a mile or so of each other so you may want to drive from location to location. There is also an option for an audio tour on the website if you want to give that a try.

Explore the Beauty

While looking for the Art we discovered some other really cute things in the Library area. Exploring is always an adventure and you never know what you will find.

Where to Eat

Y’all, one thing that Boerne does well is food! We ate at the following locations and I recommend them all!
Hungry Horse – NOTE: The servings are HUGE!
The Daily Grind has wonderful coffee and breakfast!
Fritze’s BBQ – Excellent Texas BBQ

Hill Country Mile A collection of modern shops & restaurants with vintage flair in historic downtown Boerne, Texas.

Where to Stay

We choose to stay at the King Of Country’s Resort – Tapatio Springs Resort
I highly recommend this resort. We were able to enjoy a movie by the pool at night, an amazing resort pool for families, there is an adult only pool only if you prefer, there is a spa (we did not visit the spa), the rooms were beautiful and so comfortable (Y’all know how we are about beds and these beds were 5 stars), restaurant, skipping rock, cornhole, bonfire, and when you rise you can see a glorious sun rise!

Go Shopping

You must visit the Hill Country Mile on Main Street. There are so many really unique shops on this mile. You can find things from antiques to new, unique, and handmade!
