Wet N Wild Splashtown Houston For Family Summer Fun

Did you hear about the awesome changes that Splashtown Houston recently made? They changed the name of SplashTown to Wet ‘n’ Wild SplashTown in conjunction with a multi-million dollar transformation of Houston’s largest and closest water park to deliver a whole new, family-friendly experience.Splashtown Houston

Some of the new attractions include: FlowRider, a unique surfing experience; Big Kahuna, an exciting family raft thrill ride as well as Wet ‘n’ Wild Jr., an interactive children’s area with added convenience details parents will appreciate.

Younger visitors will get the VIP treatment when they step into their own world of wet thrills at Wet ‘n’ Wild Jr., an expanded kid’s area that will include eight exciting water slides, including a double body slide and triple track racer; an extreme gushing spray tower; a continuously drenching waterfall as well as jumping spray fountains that little visitors can frolic through. The pool’s beach entry will be configured with seat walls so parents may be closer to their young children. Wet ‘n’ Wild Jr. features an exclusive toddler-only play zone with additional shading that will feature low intensity activities such as a floor bubbler and clam shell toddler slide.  Wet ‘n’ Wild SplashTown Houston- Check out all of the updates. My husband and I have great memories of visiting Splashtown Houston when we were kids and teenagers. It was much smaller and simpler then. We were excited to share one of our favorite places in Houston with our kids this year. The major transformation of Splashtown Houston offers a whole new dimension of wet thrills, more shaded lounge areas and expanded food offerings.

We LOVED our sneak peek of Wet ‘n’ Wild SplashTown this past weekend. Pictures are the best way to show you how much fun we had. So here you go…

I LOVE how kid and family friendly Wet ‘n’ Wild SplashTown Houston is!

My husband and I were able to sit back and soak up some sun while watching our kids have a blast. The 2-3 foot area was the perfect area for them to play and feel secure.

They enjoyed the kid only slides and rides. These slides are for those under a specific height only. So there is not worry about the “big kids” hurting or getting the way of our little ones.

My husband and oldest child loved the bigger rides.

Important things to consider before your trip:

  • If you will be going more than once, a season pass is your best buy.
  • Be sure to bring your money for snacks and drinks. The food was great, but pricey. There is a great cafe, a sweet shop, and more! Something for everyone! I enjoyed fruit while the husband enjoyed a hamburger basket.
  • They do sell alcohol there.
  • There is no smoking in the park at all.
  • You could pack a lunch, but you may not bring it in the park. You can leave the park and enjoy your lunch on a picnic table outside the park. When you are done, you can go back in for more fun!
  • Private cabanas are available for rent.

We choose not to, and walked the lazy river. It was still awesome! Most of the rides have tubes that you can use for that specific ride.
  • You can rent lockers of various sizes so that you do not need to carry around all your stuff.
  • Bring your sunscreen, but if you run out you can shop at one of the stores in the park. They have everything that you may need. We bought googles. 🙂
  • There are free life jackets available throughout the park.
