Summer is flying by! Now is the time to soak in all the fun and enjoy the kiddos before they head back to school. Sometimes it is hard to come up with new and exciting things to do. Luckily, we’ve got some super simple ideas to keep your kids happy in the summer.

1 . Take a swim

Swimming is one of the best summer activities for kids, you’ll get some exercise, have plenty of fun, and potentially explore the outdoors. Try a classic beach day or explore wild-swimming spots closeby. When you’re swimming in lakes, be sure to supervise your children and take the relevant health and safety precautions. If you prefer, hit the local pool. A family swimming day is a great way to cool off in the summer heat!

2. Family bike ride

Bike rides can be a real awesome summer adventure. Plan out an easy route and explore some natural beauty spots in your area. If you need some help planning a biking route, check out the ‘All Trails’ app, here you can find biking routes, hiking routes and National Parks. You can even use the search filter to find trails that are ‘kid-friendly’.

Before you set off, check your kid’s bikes, and ensure that they are working correctly. Take helmets, a first aid kit, and plenty of water and snacks.

3. Try a scavenger hunt

Looking for a fun way to keep your kids happy? Then be sure to try a scavenger hunt. The good news is you don’t have to create your own, there are lots of cool apps that offer scavenger hunts designed for kids.

These scavenger hunts are plenty of fun for all the family. Expect a range of trivia questions, video challenges, and riddles to solve. You can choose from several different themes, whether it’s geography or animals. Scavenger hunts are one of the best games for kids in the summer.

4. Games outside

Looking for a super simple idea to entertain your kids in the summer? Just grab a few games and toys and hit the nearest park. Challenge your kids to a game of frisbee, or maybe even a water balloon fight. Let them bring their favorite toys and have a blast playing in the sun. Often the most simple ideas end up being the most fun! Looking for a new toy for your little one? The Super Wings transforming characters are super popular this year.

5. Summer workshops

Let your child explore a new hobby this summer, there are lots of kid’s summer workshops to try. Whether it’s art, music or sports, summer is the perfect time to try new activities and make some new friends. Ask your child what sort of activities they’d be interested in, and let them lead the conversation. It’s no use enrolling your kid in a workshop that they aren’t going to enjoy! If they are shy, suggest that they bring a friend from school along.

With any luck your kids will just love a few of these summer activities. The school holidays are the best time to try new things, and discover new passions.
