As such, a thank you, or an acknowledgement at the very least goes a long way.
Some companies go beyond and even get their employees gifts at the holidays. For example, there are turkey vouchers for employees available and some companies opt to give these out. It might seem a little strange, but turkeys are expensive so this can be a huge help, especially to those who are struggling. Hey, it’s something and it’s cool right!
You should always feel as though the business that you work for cares for you. What we mean by this is that if you are sick, you are not pressured to come in and work through the sickness. Or, if you need a mental health day, you are allowed to take one and not have it held over your head for the next couple of years. The business you work for should always be concerned about their employees health and mental health, knowing that this is always going to be a priority.
Also, think about how they react if you have to leave 10 mins early to pick up your child because they are sick or something along these lines. A lot of companies will be fine with this, and others not so much, so keep your eye on this.
The last thing that we are going to mention is that you should never feel alone when you are working. You should always feel as though you have the support of your colleagues and business behind you.
