My birthday is during the Christmas Holidays. I am a Christmas baby. So to help me feel special my husband always takes me a on a trip between Christmas and New Years. I usually plan it. Sometimes it is the whole family and sometimes it is just the 2 of us. Either way it is always a nice getaway! This year I found this adorable lodge sitting on Canyon Lake. This is a beautiful lake located in the Texas Hill Country. I love the hill country. The peace and quiet is such a soul refresher to me.
Holiday Lodge on Canyon Lake is a beautiful hidden gem right on the lake. Upon arrival Mark, the owner, greeted me and was a wealth of information. He told me all about the property, the town, places to eat, entertainment, and more. He lives near the property and was available at any time to help.
The room was filled with small touches of charm. The face clothes had a beautiful note on them regarding their priority and method of cleanliness.
The decor was stunning. Rock ways, beautiful bedding, a faux fireplace for ambiance (It was 80 degrees outside so certainly didn’t need the heat).
Each room has a little library. They have cable channels but also have DVDs to rent. You will never want to leave!
The beautiful porch was a wonderful place to sit and relax and take in the nature.
The outdoor was decorated with lighting. It was just the right amount to set the mood for a relaxing evening in the hills overlooking the water.
Their was a beautiful view of the lake from our room. And some We had deer that kept us company.
There was a bench on the top of hill. I spent time one morning sitting on that bench. While the sky was cloudy and I didn’t see the sunset or sunrise that I had planned I got so much more. I had a peaceful time of meditation.
