They say everything is bigger, and better in Texas and that is so true and on display at Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center. This is a one-of-a-kind resort sure to please and entertain everyone in your family. Gaylord Texan is so much more than a hotel. It is a resort and waterpark! We spent a full day at the Paradise Springs At Gaylord Texan Resort. From opening to closing time, we had a blast. Paradise Springs At Gaylord Texan Resort is a must visit waterpark in Texas!
Disclosure: We were invited as the media to attend. No monetary compensation was received and all opinions are honest and my own.
Add some splash to this year’s summer fun at Gaylord Texan Resort’s 10-acre outdoor waterpark, Paradise Springs.
This Texas themed waterpark features a 6,000-square-foot family lagoon, lazy river, waterslide, zip line, multi-level water play structure, and more. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
It is important to know that 10-acre outdoor waterpark, Paradise Springs At Gaylord Texan Resort is for guests only! So there is no need to worry about over crowding or beating the crowd. There is a shuttle that goes from the hotel to the water park. It arrives about every 15 mins. The week we visited there were several running so we never had to wait that long.
Before you hop on the shuttle you will stop by the Pool Lobby and grab your wristbands. This is your ticket into the water park. No need to pack a towel- they have you covered!
Important notes: You can not bring food or drinks into the park. The only exception is water bottles. 1 per person and be sure it is sealed. You will want to pack your sunscreen. They will supply towels and life jackets. There are lots of places leave your stuff but if you prefer you can use a locker. Also, as we moved around the park, we would get our stuff and move it to a new area. We never had trouble finding a spot.
Entering the water park is so exciting. Because the crowds are low you can see the whole park thought out the day without the stress of long lines. We started at the 600-square-foot Lazy River. We floated the river and passed through waterfalls, water fountains, and the current makes it “lazy”. My little guy swam the river several times so you don’t have to be “lazy” in this river. But you are welcome to sit back and let the river take you away!
Next we visited the back section which included 6,000-square-foot family lagoon with a 27-foot waterslide and zip line, along with two horseshoe-shaped hot pools, and a dedicated toddler pool.
We finished off the day at the Paradise Springs’ recently built $5M Texas-themed, multi-level water play structure which includes interactive water features, three winding waterslides, private cabanas. lounge chairs, toddler pool and more! There is a huge Texas themed bucket at the top and every few minutes it spills over!
There are activities to keep you busy. We did the Selfie Scavenger Hunt and Hair Braiding. It was awesome!
The full-service Pool Bar and Grill at Paradise Springs satisfies Texas-sized appetites with tasty fare including Macho Nachos and Texas Burger along with specialty drinks such as our Poolside Mule and Savor the Flavor Frozen Margaritas.
We loved the Snow Cone offerings! They were $5 each and refill using their cups were only $3!
And if you are just thirsty for water, they have you covered there too! There are water coolers and cups all over the water park for free refreshing drinks.
