The Employees Care

I am not sure what they offer the employees as far as perks, training, or benefits, but they are doing something right! Every single person that we encountered was so delightful! They went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful. While on a scavenger hunt we asked a few employees to take selfies with us and they were more than happy to! The Beauty

It is like a small city. The park-like atrium exudes natural beauty and is filled with trees, shrubs, colorful flowers, and a river with rocks and waterfalls that winds its way through the space. You can get lost in the 4.5 acres of lush indoor gardens and riverwalk. The kids and I wondered around the property for 2 hours taking it all in! The kids loved the Lionel Trains and tracks that were tucked in the little villages throughout the atrium. One thing I loved was the art that was featured all throughout. There is even a walking tour that you can find info for at the Concierge.

The Resort Pools

Indoor and Outdoor pools offer fun in the water without leaving the resort. We loved the outdoor pool and spent hours in the sparkling blue outdoor pool with refreshing overhead cascades. Reflecting the region’s traditional Southwestern décor, this Grapevine pool is the place to swim, sip a cool drink and bask in the Texas sun. You can also visit the indoor pool if you need a break from the sun or weather is less than ideal. The indoor 20-meter lap pool is perfect for a focused workout in a serene environment.

The Waterpark

Gaylord Texan is so much more than a hotel. It is a resort and waterpark! We spent a full day at the Paradise Springs At Gaylord Texan Resort. The Food

The Gaylord Texan Resort includes 10 restaurants, bars and cafes, serving everything from succulent steaks and seafood to traditional Mexican and Italian. Our favorite was the Mission Plaza Marketplace because it serves a wide array of coffee, breakfast pastries, salads, sandwiches and more. This is perfect for on-the-go guests, like us!  I started each day at the Cocoa Bean Express. The Rooms

We stayed in the Atrium View Guest Room with two queen-size beds overlook the magnificent indoor gardens of Gaylord Texan Resort. It is over 400 square feet making it roomy enough for four people. The room also offers a small refrigerator and well-lit work desk. You can choose from Atrium View Guest Rooms, offering stunning views of our one-of-a-kind atriums. The three atriums of the Grapevine resort recreate various vibrant Texas environments. The Resort offers suites as well.

The BEDS

Ok so, we are bed snobs and that is why this deserves a spot on the top reasons to visit Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine Texas. Beds can make or break a getaway for us. I have a bad neck and Joel has a bad back. So 7+ hours on a hard or uncomfortable bed means we will have a miserable next day! The beds are Gaylord Texan were one of the best we have experienced at a resort or hotel. We enjoyed deep sleep with the fluffy mattress and bedding and fluffy pillows. And no need to request extra pillows in this resort. The beds come with 4 pillows per bed which is 2 per person. That is exactly how we like it. So we woke up rested and ready for the full day ahead each morning.

Summer Adventures

Entertainment

There was never a moment that my kids were bored! And as any mom during the summer can understand, this is a HUGE deal. One day one we discovered the game room, pools, giant board game, activities, and more so that we were all set. When they wanted some down time we watched Netflix on the large flat screen tv in our room. They are Netflix ready. When they were ready to go again we went exploring, swimming, gaming, or whatever they felt like doing. There is a fitness center and Spa that I hope to check out the next time that I visit. This summer is Summerfest with a Smurf theme and so the resort is decked out in Smurf photo spots, mushrooms, hidden Smurfs, movies, classes, optional activities, and more!
