5 Warning Signs That Indicate Drug Rehab is Needed

The warning signs are often pretty obvious, but some may not be as apparent, which is why it’s good to be attentive to everything an individual does who may be taking substances or dealing with a bad habit.

  1. Loss of control

One of the main warning signs of an addiction is the loss of control a person has to that drug or alcohol misuse. Typically in these situations, the individual has lost control of their habit and it may be showing through their behaviors, the situations they get themselves in that might be dangerous and their physical health too.

  1. Severe withdrawal and high tolerance

With any addiction, the more you have of the ‘drug’ whether it be gambling or alcohol, the more severe the withdrawal becomes.

That in turn, can build up a higher tolerance, so the user needs more in order to satisfy their needs. That ultimately results in a vicious cycle that becomes more and more dangerous if not addressed.

  1. Life disruption

Any form of addiction can end up disrupting the individual’s life and those around them. That could be problems with the addiction that result in job loss or fractured relationships as a result of the drug or addiction becoming more prominent.

  1. Continued use despite harm to overall health

Despite harm being caused physically, emotionally or externally, many of those addicted to something, will continue. That can cause outward harm, with mainly the harm being inflicted on the individual’s health and wellbeing.

  1. Failed attempts to cut down or stop

When there’s being failed attempts to cut down or  stop, that’s where the substance abuse team at EleveBH can step in. It may indicate that the individual cannot do it alone and therefore need professional help to tackle the problem.

How to Tackle Drug Rehab
