Have you ever said to yourself:
“What am I doing here?” OR “Why now?” OR “I don’t understand!”
I have been saying that a lot lately. We moved to Louisiana in October. I can not believe it has only been 2 months! WOW it seems much longer! I miss home. I miss my friends. I miss our house. I miss my family. I miss everything! The hard thing is that the kids are sad too. I am trying to stay positive for them. Encouraging them to meet new people, make new friends and try new things.
My problem is that I am alone, sad and discontent. I am not at PEACE. I need to find my JOY. I need to find my purpose.
A wise woman said to me the other day, “There is a reason you are in New Iberia right now!”She is right. God puts us each in the place that he has prepared us to go. We are enough and have enough if we are in HIM.
Here are scriptures on waiting on the Lord and trusting in the Lord. Scripture to help find joy and peace in your situation.
“Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the LORD and WAIT patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”
“And we know that all things work together for GOOD to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His PURPOSE.” Romans 8:28
“I have told you all this so that you may have PEACE in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
“O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139
“Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be CONTENT in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:11-13
“Fight the good fight of the FAITH. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12
“For I know the PLANS I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a FUTURE.” Jeremiah 29:11
“If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in CONTENTMENT.” Job 36:11
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you THINK. Then you will learn to know God’s WILL FOR YOU, which is good and PLEASING and PERFECT.” Romans 12:2
“A heart at PEACE gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” Proverbs 14:30
Maybe you’re like me. You are wondering why on earth am I here, in this place, in this situation, in this place of sadness right now? I am waiting on HIM! Praying for HIS direction.

I have yet to be content where I am as you know. I think a lot, well, most…ok ALL of my issues stem from the fact that my eyes aren’t turned to the Lord. They’re focused on me, my situation, missing home. I’m not settled here and I realize it’s only been a short while, but I’d love for it to start feeling like home. Need to focus on these scriptures.
