This year, I have decided to stop asking why and instead find the simple joys in my life. When I take my mind of my my worries, unrest, things that are not bringing me peace, things that are not bringing me joy and instead focus on JOY! Even it is the smallest thing!

A wise woman said to me the other day, “There is a reason you are in this place right now right now!”She is right. God puts us each in the place that he has prepared us to go. We are enough and have enough if we are in HIM.

Maybe you’re like me. You are wondering why on earth am I here, in this position, in this situation, in this place of uncertainty right now? I am waiting on HIM! Praying for HIS direction.Have faith. Trust. Obey. It will be ok! Find peace and joy in your situation. It is there because God is there! 

While reading scriptures and engaging with your faith can provide you with a sense of peace and contentment during struggles, remember that there are also other resources that you can rely on during this time to help you feel more like yourself again.

For example, you could work to rectify the dangerous behaviors that are borne from your sadness and struggles, such as drug and alcohol dependency.

By finding healthier coping mechanisms that aren’t putting you in danger, you’re in a better place to work through your emotions as opposed to running from them. This, coupled with finding peace within your faith, can help you to get back on the right track.
